The Meeteetse Formation is a Late Cretaceous geologic formation occurring in Wyoming. The formation is described by W.G. Pierce as gray to white clayey sand, drab sandstone, gray and brown shale, and bentonitic clay. It can form badlands.〔Pierce, W.G., 1997, Geologic map of the Cody 1 degree x 2 degrees quadrangle, northwestern Wyoming: U.S. Geological Survey, Miscellaneous Geologic Investigations Map I-2500, scale 1:250000.〕 Dinosaur remains are among the fossils that have been recovered from the formation, although none have yet been referred to a specific genus.〔Weishampel, et al. (2004). "Dinosaur distribution." Pp. 517-607.〕 ==See also== * List of dinosaur-bearing rock formations * * List of stratigraphic units with indeterminate dinosaur fossils 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Meeteetse Formation」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
